About

In 2019 we received funding from Awards for All to run a pilot project providing art classes in a food bank. The project was enormously successful.  We continued the project voluntarily until COVID restriction stopped the work.

The project, called ‘Square meal Photography group’, has been taking place every Tuesday in the Thomas Helwys Baptist Church in Nottingham, NG7. It was run in partnership with a local food bank called Himmah, who provided the food and meals while we ran the art sessions. The sessions had around 30 people attending each week. However, on 15th March the Church closed its door for communal gatherings due to the COVID-10 restrictions. Since this date, we have run the project online, with Himmah providing food deliveries to people at home. You can view the work of the food bank on a Channel 4 new report here.
